Nova has earned a Bachelors of Science in Biology from the University of Maryland, College Park, a Master of Arts in Teaching from Johns Hopkins University and recently a Master of Science in Medical Cannabis Science and Therapeutics from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. She was the founding Secretary for the Medical Cannabis Student Association and inducted into the Rho Chi Honor Society, Omicron Chapter during her time at UMB.
Nova is a career educator, working as a high school science teacher for over 20 years and most recently as a university adjunct instructor for multiple cannabis education programs. Nova is a National Board Certified Teacher in Adolescent and Young Adult Science.
In addition to teaching, Nova currently works to educate Medical Cannabis patients and potential patients on the use(s) of medical cannabis. As an educator and coach, she has helped patients navigate the processes to obtain a medical cannabis card and recommendation as well as what to expect during a trip to a dispensary and much more. Nova provides presentations to various groups to help reduce the stigmas associated with medical cannabis use and educate people on the science of cannabis.
